Cirque Plume in New York : Exhibition of photos in Paris
Presence of the National Front in the 2-nd tour of presidential elections
"Mélanges (opéra plume)" is the name of the Cirque Plume's new show.
What mélange - what are we mixing ?
Human beings, characters, genres, styles, techniques, dreams?
We weave together, not one, but several stories.
The story of the concierge of this unlikely place, " Little Miss Perfect ", in search of her light, meeting an angel of no fixed abode and no fixed god who happens to be there.
Stories of music, in which we take to the air on a double bass, of a musician dreaming he is Jimmy Hendrix, of a scarecrow with hats, of silken paradises in which the balls of crazy jugglers dance to the voice of a sensual diva.
We mix a contemporary dancer searching for herself between a madman and an angel, a dionysian acrobat, the Quadras, a Marcel, a dancer who sets the tight rope singing, an almost child trapezing her dreams, three baroque lady musicians, and a manager.
A mixture of voices and musics, mixture of times, mixture of the codes proper to the circus, theatre and dance, for a show which you see and experience as a poem.
What exactly is a Cirque Plume show?
A circus show is a live show.
A Cirque Plume show is made by the living for the living;
It's joyful, colourful, profound, poetic, messy, rough and ready, and precise. It's like life.
It is nourished by the exchange that takes place between ... a lively bunch of people on the stage, launching into the air on ropes, doing somersaults on bikes, blowing on light beams, inventive in music, balancing on feathers ... and another bunch sitting in the audience, lively people too, launched on the wings of their hearts, breathtakingly together, inventing images, balancing on a frail poem which has sprung forth from time immemorial ever since primates endowed with articulated thumbs got together in a circle to sing, play, dance, and tell stories, showing their amazement at the gift of life while attempting to gain just a glimmering of insight into this mystery.
Our speciality is frailty, exchange, and this age-old yearning, this nostalgia for the ideal as Andrei Tarkovski put it.
The Circus is poetry in action. A poem to be shared.

When you enter the Cirque Plume big top, like the all-male brass band in "L'harmonie est-elle municipale ?", you discover a feminine world, a subtle and aerial world, and you are in for a lively show in which you will see, among others things, a crazy cyclist on a trampoline, a little man becoming a giant, a diva accompanied by a "live" piano and a whole series of tricks with lights and shadows...
In this surrealistic and poetic inventory, the real star of the show is really the troupe itself ; each and every artiste whether on the ground or in the air, is also a musician.
So, true to its spirit, the Cirque Plume combines acrobatics of high calibre with improvised clumsiness, meetings and separations, lights and shadows, in its light-hearted and playful handling of a big question - the relationship between men and women.
"L'harmonie est-elle municipale ?" is quite a story - stories between six men and six women, presented in a series of tableaux in which they are on a never-ending quest for happiness and harmony.
What encounters will come of this harmony ?
Which harmonies will survive these encounters ?
